It’s time to celebrate! Pratt & Whitney is pleased to announce the launch of the all-new PT6 E-Series™ engine family. The PT6E-67XP engine powering the Pilatus PC-12NGX aircraft was unveiled Monday evening at NBAA in Las Vegas.
“Pratt & Whitney is very excited to be launching the new PT6 E-Series engine and to have been selected by Pilatus to power its new PC-12 NGX aircraft. We are setting a new standard for general aviation’s leading engine – the PT6,” said Maria Della Posta, president, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “We have injected into this new engine the knowledge that we have acquired over nearly a century of innovation and more than 1.5 billion hours of operational expertise to provide a whole new experience in flying and in customer service. We are proud to say that general aviation’s No. 1 engine just got even better.”
The PT6 E-Series builds on the reliability of the legendary PT6 family of engines and our more than 1.5 billion hours of operational expertise to provide a whole new experience in flying and customer service. The advanced technology offers a more intuitive way of flying, from engine start to propeller and engine control.
Features include:
- Auto-start with push button.
- Integrated electronic propeller and engine control.
- Digital auto-throttle ready.
- Digital propeller speed management.
- Full digital envelope protection.
- Single lever operation.
Engine Performance
The engine is designed for a quicker climb and greater speed, producing 10% more power so operators reach their destinations faster.
Control Systems
The electronic engine control provides full digital envelope protection, making the necessary adjustments to optimize engine power throughout the flight. There are two independent control systems, and the electronic engine control results in a simpler engine, with fewer parts to maintain.
Digital Intelligence
The PT6 E-Series is digitally connected, monitoring more than 100 engine parameters to optimize engine operation through all phases of flight. Upon landing, engine flight data is wirelessly downloaded, providing valuable insights into engine health and performance.
Customer Experience
Along with the engine, we have improved the service experience. With new insights gained from the flight data, customers can maximize operations and reduce costs with predictable and planned maintenance. Maintenance intervals are two times longer, up to 600 hours, with 43% longer time between overhaul intervals, an increase from 3,500 to 5,000 hours. The PT6 E-Series also comes with its very own Eagle Service® Plan (ESP®), in total, customers will enjoy a 15% reduction in hourly engine operating costs.
A Tradition of Innovation
This newest addition to the PT6 family was made possible thanks to hundreds of thousands of hours of development work and planning by our employees and partners, and the generations of Pratt & Whitney employees who have paved the way for this innovation by dedicating their careers to developing, building and servicing the iconic PT6 engine. Congratulations!
